Martha Nuckels

2nd Grade

I have been teaching since 1975 when I graduated from North Texas State University, now the University of North Texas.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with certifications in kindergarten through eight grade and Gifted and Talented.  I have taught in both public and Christian schools throughout North Texas as I served beside my late husband in his Music and Education Ministry.

My older son, Christian, is Worship Pastor at Battle Creek Church in Owasso, Oklahoma and my younger son, Jordan, is the Music and Art teacher at Harmony School in Plano, Texas.

I was bless to have been brought up in a Christian home with a legacy of faith and family.  I was surrounded by Christian parents, teachers and extended family who encouraged me on the path to Christian service.  I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at the age of nine and felt called to Christian service as a young teen.

God has used me as a volunteer with children in churches across America and Canada; with cancer patients at Reba's Ranch House; as a Hurricane Katrina volunteer helping children who were relocated to Texas; as a Disaster Relief Volunteer during the Black Forest Fires in Colorado; and in Appalachian Ministries in schools and churches in West Virginia.

The spiritual growth and blessing that I have received have given me a determination that all children deserve to have a safe and loving environment in which to learn.  I am so thankful to be a teacher at CHA where I can share my faith and encourage a thirst for knowledge.
