Rachel Gibbs

6th - 8th Grade Math/Science

My name is Rachel Gibbs and this is my third year at Christian Heritage Academy teaching Junior High. The Lord captured my heart and mind as a Junior High student, so these grades are especially dear to me. I teach because I love God and I love these students. I want them to be successful in school, but more importantly to be successful in life. What better way to love them then to teach them how to do both?

I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2013 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in 4-8 Math Education and English as a Second Language. The same year, I married my husband who was in the US ARMY at the time. While moving every other year (or more often!) I taught various middle grades math classes in different districts.

Along the way, I added Special Education, Gifted & Talented, and High School Math to my certificate; and in 2016 I graduated with my masters in Educational Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University.  After having our first child spring of 2018 I stayed home with her, then with her sister who was born fall of 2020. In 2021 the Lord called me back to teach through a dear friend. I love what I do here and am thankful that my oldest has been able to join me in the halls of CHA as a Kindergartener this year.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my girls and husband, my siblings and their families, and both my parents and in-laws! We love time outside, reading, and playing with our dogs. I personally enjoy crafting, working out, and baking. Math is my favorite traditional school subject to teach, but I could sit and read a good book for as long as time would allow! I am excited about what this school year holds and can not wait to see what the Lord has planned.
