End of Year Letter for 2019 - Third Grade from Mrs. Love

Summer vacation is here!!! I know you are ready to enjoy a little extra sleep and a different schedule. For sure, I will enjoy a little longer time on my back porch. Take time to really talk to your children to help them learn to have confidence in carrying on good conversations.

We have worked very hard and I have seen a tremendous amount of growth. This year math has been all-consuming, so don't quit working on those facts!!! LOL. ...Parents will set up a FREE parent and child account. You will receive weekly emails about your child's progress. The program customizes the areas of need based on each individual child. This is highly recommended by a close friend who uses this with her children.

Reading is "key" to being able to perform well in all subjects. If you are not a member of the Palestine Public Library, make that a priority. Going to the library is one of my favorite memories when I was growing up. I lived in a small town when I was in the first 3 grades and the bookmobile came during the summer.... (Telling my age). I could hardly wait. My mother and daddy read to me extensively. Read to your children even at this age. They will learn from your inflections and excitement as your read aloud.

We have read the following class sets: Pulling Together, Freckle Juice, Boxcar Children, Stone Fox, Class President Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark, The Gift, Molly's Pilgrim, The Courage of Sarah Noble, Little House in the Big Woods, Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Lead Us to Freedom, Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, Chocolate Fever, Because of Winn Dixie, and Anne Frank....Keep on reading and write about what your read...
